Bar bell accident

So last Monday I had an accident. I was lifting weights at the gym with Jason and Curtis. It was chest day so I was doing the incline bench and had 64 pounds (thats including the bar) the bar fell and landed on my throat! Jason got it off and for about 30 seconds I couldn't breath. All I really remember from that point is that I jumped on top of Jason and I could hear him yelling for help. Luckily Jason works at a hospital and called a doctor and said that everything will be okay. Jason was nice enough to take care of me for the week while I was trying to finish all of my papers and test at school. I couldn't talk very much, it hurts to swallow, sneeze and eat. But today I actually feel so much better even though my throat hurts a little bit when I swallow. It was a little scary, but Jason took care of me and now I'm done with school. I do not recommend a bar bell to land on your throat so please be careful.

Whitney you crazy girl! I'm glad you're Ok. I think you should change your story around a little bit and say it was 200 lbs you were pumping up and your arms gave out on you on like you 20th rep...that's totally believable.

oh my heck whit ! glad you are doing better...it's good that jason was there for you. have you ever seen that on americas funniest home videos? replace you with a beefcake lifting like 300 lbs, and replace jason with a camera.

I wonder if it would have hurt as much if you had titanium in your neck like mine? I don't think I'll try and see.

Whitney!!! Hey, I just found your blog through Krista's. It sounds like things are going well, except for some minor things here and there at the gym.
